According to the Assessment Plan the final for this course is the IELTS test March 19, so this final exam this week is a new and unexpected development

I tried to go over the exercises with the students but they went straight to the writing
So they are writing essays today on this topic, 250 words
In many countries, people eat fast food several times a week, rather than cooking for themselves. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this development?
I will take the essays done on paper and
1. read them into Google Docs
2. give feedback to the students to help them revise
3. have the students revise on iPads on Tuesday

Period 7 Vocabulary and writing revision
Of the 7 students in the class last week, on the writing assigned,
3 wrote 350, 258, and 177 words
1 wrote only 63 words (she restarted after work copied from a website was rejected)
3 others submitted work copy / pasted from web sites, but did not attempt to write on their own
Furthemore, only 2 students had done any revision after I supplied feedback on Feb 25
So, there was not much I could do with the 3 students who are struggling to complete IELTS, as they were in the latter categories

Finding facts on an aviation topic with advantages and disadvantages
On Tuesday Feb 16 through Sunday Feb 21
Putting the facts into a well organized essay
On Monday you were given Period 5 to work on your essays
- Your teacher recorded the number of words produced by each student
On Tuesday you were given Period 4 to review vocabulary or work on your essays.
- Some worked on essays, some on vocabulary, some did neither
- Your teacher gave feedback on all your essays
- Essays in general did not follow from the worksheets you were given Sunday
- Some students went to work and did well
- Some did not start their essays with clear ideas in mind, work unstructured
- Some pasted text from websites that was not on the topic of this essay

Period 2 - plan your essays in pairs
This period we will show how you can you use SELECTED information in the video to write an advantages and disadvantages essay on just two aspects of the differences between the Russian and Western Air forces.
Let’s consider some of the different aspects discussed
Aspect one - Approach to battle (the philosophical bent)
