  1. Create a NEW tutorial world so you'll start at the beginning
  2. Follow the instructions, and complete the tutorial
  3. Cross the deep ravine at the end of the tutorial by creating steps or tunneling upwards

Two soldiers have just parachuted into a distant land somewhere deep within a LAN server in the ILC.

Their task is build shelter to protect themselves from enemies that will certainly attack at night.

  1. enter Minecraft in survival mode, alone or as part of a team
  2. acquire resources, make tools, build shelter

Open the document you worked on yesterday and correct it according to the comments from your teacher

For today, Monday, May 1, write 100 more words on one of these topics:

  1. Tell me more about your topic from yesterday
  2. Tell me what you remember from the Edpuzzle video you watched today
  3. What do you think we should be doing in this course this week and next?

 

On iPad, open your doc in the Google Docs app (sign in to Google first)

On PC, open your doc in http://drive.google.com

If you're having trouble with Google, try http://microsoftonline.com, log in with your HCT ID and password 

 

 

Periods 5-6 Find an Oxford Bookworm Reader or book in ILC that has an mReader quiz with it

Click on Oxford Bookworm, Access Now

 

 

Arrive at http://www.oxfordeltdigitallibrary.com.ezproxy.hct.ac.ae/HCT/library/ 

 

 

Browse the collection

 

 

See if the book has an mReader quiz by clicking on VIEW AVAILABLE QUIZZES at https://mreader.org/

 

 

Your assignment, to be COMPLETED in Week 6 - Pass the quiz in mReader or write a book review

 

If you choose a book that has an mReader, you can pass the quiz.

Be sure you are logged on to mReader when you work there, http://mreader.org .

 

If the book you want to read does not have a quiz, read the book and write a book review of 500 words

Periods 4-5 Set up Google accounts and Google Docs

 

  1. Create a Google Account
  2. DO NOT GIVE A MOBILE PHONE NUMBER
  3. Create a Google Doc (use the PC or download the app)
  4. Give your document a name 49-section5-6 Your name
  5. Write 3 sentences to introduce yourself.
    Tell me something amazing about yourself
  6. Share this document with vancestev@gmail.com

 

Google Docs are the BEST way to work on writing with your teacher, but

If you can't create a Google Account, you can use

http://microsoftonline.com 

 

Log in with your HCT email address; e.g. H00123456@hct.ac.ae

 

Open Word

  1. Create a document and name it your Group Section number and name; e.g. 49 sF Sarah
  2. Share it with Vance Stevens (when you start typing it will recognize vstevens@hct.ac.ae)
  3. Edit IN A BROWSER (not in Word)

 

When you share the document, an email will be sent to Vance, and I can open the document and work on it with you.
