Requirements of your presentation:
Presentation Tool
Your choice (Keynote, Power Point, Haiku Deck, Prezi, iMovie, etc)
5- 10 slides or frames
You may have or require more depending on your choice of presentation tool.
Include the following slides
Slide 1 - Title slide with topic, names and IDs of presenters, section #, date of completion
Slide 2 - A slide explaining the organization of the presentation
Slides containing content, according to slide 2, as needed
A slide with references numbered, giving name and URL of reference
A conclusion slide
Bullet points only
No sentences
6 X 6 rule
No more than six bullet points per slide / frame
No more than six words per bullet point
3- 5 minutes in length
You will not be presenting this project this semester. Three to five minutes is an estimate.

This is the marking scheme that will be applied to your final exam writing next week
Students received feedback on their work in Google Docs from Thursday and continued where they left off
At Period 6 they were told the writings would be printed and graded by Period 6 the following day

On Wed Sept 2 Ellen got students started on writing an advantages and disadvantages essay about fast food using pages from the text EXIT 5 which you can download at http://vancesclass.pbworks.com.
Vance corrected this work and returned it to you Thu Sept 3
Now you will use Ellen’s recipe to write your own advantages / disadvantages essay on a topic of your choice. You may work in pairs. Each pair will choose a topic with advantages and disadvantages. Some ideas are: Running at 5 in the morning, life in the military, public transportation, taking a semester-long course in 5 weeks, having two English teachers, deregulating the price of petrol, writing on iPads, etc.

Title the document: Your name / ID / Section # / your topic
Vance will paste the TEMPLATE into your document
Use the recipein the paper Ellen had you write and the templateto write your essay in the shared google doc.
Each team member needs to write a portion of the doc. For example, one team member works on the introduction, another on the first paragraph, and so on. Both students’ names should appear often in the Revision History.

Vance returned task 3 project essays and brought storyboard template for students to start planning their project presentations
Saoud and Saif got to work on this. Most of the other students were not in the mood.

Thu Aug 27 - Task 3 is due in Google Doc (worksheet) and in transfered to Google Sites (ePortfolio, for 6 of the 20 points on the research project)
Mon Aug 31 - The Mid-term exam, in the Auditorium, covers reading, listening, and writing. For writing, each student writes INDIVIDUALLY a 250 word essay about his project. You will have 30 minutes to complete the writing part of the mid-term exam.

First paragraph: Introduce your topicExplain what your app does, or what your topic is and what aspects you will cover
In one to three paragraphs: Develop your topic. Keep in mind that you are going to explain this topic to others in your class
